AC Milan consider €63m Real Madrid flop after Taremi talks collapse

AC Milan are looking at alternatives in attack after the negotiation for Mehdi Taremi has had a probably definitive set back.

AC Milan have been in negotiations with Porto to find an agreement for Mehdi Taremi for around two months. The Rossoneri viewed the 31-year-old Iranian star as the perfect player to complete their attacking department alongside Olivier Giroud and Noah Okafor. An agreement was reached with both the player and the club and Taremi was expected to arrive in Italy today.

However, something has changed in recent hours and the transfer is at the verge of collapsing. The meeting that was held today at Casa Milan between the Rossoneri’s management and agent Daria Barhami was fruitless. AC Milan have informed Taremi’s agent that they will not accept a change of conditions and are willing to complete the agreement only on old terms.

The chances of the deal going through are deemed very low and AC Milan are already looking around for alternatives. With just one day remaining until the end of the summer transfer window the options on the table are extremely limited. Nevertheless, AC Milan still have the name of Luke Jovic on their table.

Agent Fali Ramadani has offered AC Milan the services of Luka Jovic on a number of occasions. The 25-year-old Serbian striker left Real Madrid permanently last summer after failing to justify the €63 million fee Los Blancos spent for him in 2019. Jovic had a mostly postive first season in Italy scoring 13 goals and providing 5 assists across 50 appearances. He also helped Fiorentina reach the Conference League final.

Luka Jovic still dreams of a move to AC Milan and will be available until the very last moments of the market. Fiorentina are not opposed to letting him go as well. AC Milan consider Jovic a plan B but are not very convinced that the Serbia can succeed on top level after flopping at Real Madrid. There is a real chance that the Rossoneri might not sign another striker if Taremi deal ultimately falls through.
